Yi-Azn Boi Book Review

I’ve never tried to predict the future, but Aldous Huxley wrote a novel in 1931 that could resemble some of today’s world. The novel’s called “Brave New World.” The book talks about a perfect society where everyone is happy, but after further reading the novel people will see how its goal contradicts its reality.
John the savage is one of my most favorite characters. One main reason is his name “the Savage.” Normally when you hear people described as that word you would think he’s a villain of the story. Instead, he is one of the few protagonists in the story. What makes him a special character is that he does not show up in the book until about half way into the novel. That leaves us with suspense to find out what could they possibly be doing during the first half of the book.
People in this so-called perfect world is not born from a women, instead they’re all made in a factory. Hearing this you may think of the assembly lines back from the old days that they use to made cars. In this book they praise Henry Ford, the creator of Ford motors, as a God figure in today’s world. Which saying religion does not exist in this world.
The individual life in this world is like come and go. They don’t get together and start a family. Instead you have multiple relations with different people because that’s normal to the society. When people feel sad or not as content, they take a drug called “soma” to make them feel happy again. The society separates the people by their ranks, being Alpha is the highest and Epsilon the lowest.
The book has many interesting characters. Some examples are John, Bernard, Lenina, Helmholtz, Mustapha, Fanny, and Linda. The thing that makes these characters interesting is that every one of their names is named after an important person in our history. There was a director that was running the society at first but later deported himself of fear.
I really like Huxley’s idea of naming the character with people in history. Reason for that is it kind of gives us some background of the characters having some knowledge of those people. I like the way the story flows. The mood is very calm, and every little part later he’ll bring in suspense that gets you thinking. The thought that comes to your is something you’ll not forget. Every time I hear the term “Brave New World” I think of all those events. The drugs, sex, factory made people. It leaves you with chill thinking of whether this might actually happen.
Brave New World is a great title and really express what the book’s about. The world that these people are living in is based on the idea of futurism. The world is about new reproductive technology and making people the way they are so the society is balanced out. It takes place in London at the year 632 A.F.(After Ford).
The book really expresses our lives in today’s world. People in the book don’t have relations with others and they aren’t allowed to either. The people in today’s world tend to have relationship but it happens to not last very long. Fifty percent of marriage ends in divorce and the rest in death. A lot of people do drugs to satisfy themselves these days. In this book, their leader creates the appearance of the people and put them into ranks. Today we use technology to make us better and we also can use them to get the child we want on birth.
In many ways. I’m very impressed at Huxley ability to write something knowing it might come true. You just don’t see it right away, but after putting some thought into the reading you’ll see the reality of the situation. This is a great book, encouraging for the readers to read and can’t stop. Every time you read to the end of the page, you feel the eager to keep going. This book is a great chance for people to see how powerful mind can be so I recommend it for everyone to read it.

Yi-AznBoi Gps Article

After reviewing the article, I think the article is making a lot of exageration on certain parts. I dont believe in people skipping school having a very high chance of becoming a gang member. I have notice many who dropped out and still have a decent life. Another part is that they mention the school losing $35 for every student being absent. I can't see how the school can make money from people showing up to class. Overall I can agree on some things. Skipping school can end up being a crime. If kids skip once, there likely to do it again and again. I was very surprised when they mention the part where people are skipping from fourth grader to sixth. I'm shocked at how they can get out of school being in elementary. And shouldn't there be people who notice them leaving. This story can tied in with the Brave New World by the way they tell kids to do things. Having a gps tracking you down in kinda like them teaching you to take soma where the society has more control over you. After all this article is very interesting and a good lesson to learn.

Yi-AznBoi Restaurant Review

I have never ate at a Japanese restaurant before so I recently give it a try. I was very glad for that decision. All my life I thought of eating as to be very boring sometimes. It's the key to survival but I never thought of a chance it can be fun until now. The restaurant is called "Izumi Japanese Steak & Sushi." It right off 135 Street and Quivira. The place's atmosphere is great, very cool designs. When you walked in, you can choose to eat in a classic Japanese style room or on the hibachi and people will perform while you're eating. The place is very crowded over the weekend, which makes it very entertaining I would say. The price on the menu is quite expensive on certain items, but you'll get every cent worth it because the food portion is big. The waiting part is the most exciting part, because that's when they send out their chef to cook the food in front of you. It's a really great experience, I was very impress by their skills. The lit up fire in front of you and you can feel the heat, and you can hear the people's reaction to it. They toss things up for you to catch and it's like a show while you eat. The food was delicious. Everything I taste before was better in there. The people who works in the place was really polite and dress very appropriately. The restaurant looks clean and the air smells like the scent of their food. I would say it's more of a dinner restaurant because the restaurant I think is mostly made for entertainment. They also have a bar section for people to watch games and other events thats on. Even though they have a bar, I wouldn't say that its a place for adults, but for people all age appropriate. The bar isn't made for rough people, but for those people wanting to celebrate with a cheer. Lastly I think the Izumi restaurant is a great place, a place that you come probably once a while.

Yi-AznBoi Brave New World Irony

Explanation: In this world, everyone was said to be happy with no problems involve. It was suppose to be a utopia with a communist way of life. That I mean by how they want everyone to be the same and live the same way. Everyone will be happy with no doubts.

But Bernard through the story had doubts. He starts to have feelings that no one was allowed to have. We all would expect him to be the same as everyone, but he's not. Despite he's a higher ranked guy than most others but he doesn't have the appearance as the people in his group.

Situational Irony

Huxley Purpose: I think Huxley purpose for this part is to show that being the odd one isn't always a bad thing. The way Bernard have a mind of his own gives him a higher purpose for living his life.

Yi-AznBoi Movie Review

Can you imagine yourself born as an old man and die later as an infant? Well that is how Benjamin Button live out his life.

The story takes place around the 1920s in New Orleans where Benjamin Button was born and raised. The acting role of Button's was played by Brad Pitt, which I think he's done an exordinary job at it. All the other actors also had done a magnificent job on their character and they blend in with them really well.

This movie reminds me a lot of "The Notebook" by Nick Cassavetes. Reason for this is the movie is told by a lady named Caroline reading a journal to her sick mother in bed. Which sounds to me pretty fimiliar as in The Notebook, Noah was reading it to Allie as they were at an old age. The journal was written by Benjamin Button and the sick old lady in bed was his wife Daisy. Yet Caroline doesn't know the fact that Benjamin was his father which leaves us with eager to watch on.

The crew did a great job on the special effects in the movie. I was very impressed by how old baby Benjamin looks like when he was born. It was hideous but quite realistic. Other effect were in the battle scenes where Benjamin went to World War II, things like gunfires and fireworks.

Benjamin's dad didn't want him when he was born and leaves him on someone's porch with some money. Queenie was the african american lady that take him in and raish as if he was her own. From there we watch young Benjamin grew up and met Daisy where most the movie was about. Later it was reveal to Caroline that Benjamin was her father and she wasn't not happy with the way she found out about it because her mother never told her about this.

Daisy is the lover of Benjamin. She was interesed in Benjamin but Benjamin rejects her at the beginning thinking about the diffrence in their lives. She later got into a relationship with someone else which makes Benjamin feel sad a little. She later goes back to Benjamin and they move into a house together and live there for quite a while.

Benjamin's real father came back to see him and reveals everything to him. But Benjamin stay with Queenie and said she was her mother. Later his father die and leaves him the house which he sold to get the house for him and Daisy.

Benjamin is a dynamic character. He change significantly through out the movie. After he and Daisy had Caroline, he started to realize that there will be a time where he will be too young to take care of himself and will have to rely on Daisy for support. He then leaves her so she can have her life. The story ends as infant Benjamin dies on Daisy's arm.

This movie is very emotional and shows you a lot of how to live a great life even if you're diffrent than all others.

Yi-AznBoi Picture Blog

The following picture was the superbowl 44 match between the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts. It taken place on Febuary 7, 2010 in Miami, Florida.

This picture means a value to me because I'm a long time Drew Brees fan. I watch him play all my life and consider him as an idol. He's probably one of my favorite person in the world. For years on in my life, I had watch and cheer on my favorite teams. But not once had they come close to winning it all. This very moment change my life in many ways. I learn to believe and found out things will turn out positive if you do.

This was a very emotional moment for me. Now I believe in myself to achieve higher above. Dont matter if you are the underdog, if you try hard, you will suceed. "Who dat say they'll beat dem Saints!!!"

Yi-AznBoi About my Name

They say you drop a coin to name your Chinese baby, but I'm different. You see, "Yi Zheng" is not the name you can get from a sound of things. You're probably will have to put some thought into that one. My name put together means honesty. My parents apparently does not want a lying brat in the house so hope to contain me as a good boy and wish I will live up to the meaning. My enlgish name is "Kevin" because my mom thinks it sounds cool, yes she is weird!
